There is no Metro 2039 book
There is no novel called Metro 2039. Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro novels are Metro 2033, Metro 2034, and Metro 2035. Deep Silver’s books section on the game site presents that trilogy. The video game Metro 2039 is written with Glukhovsky. It is not an adaptation of a book with the same title.
I checked the official books module and the Steam legal notice, which refers to the Metro book trilogy, not a fourth volume. Searches for “Metro 2039 book” are people hoping the title matches a paperback. It does not. Other authors have written stories in the same universe, including Piter. Those are not Metro 2039 either. I have not found a publisher announcement of a new novel tied to this release.
The books that do exist
The games take inspiration from the trilogy and then diverge. Playing 2039 will not spoil a book that has not been published, because that book is not in the official list. Reading 2033 still helps you understand Hunter and the tunnels.

No. Metro 2034 is a novel. The second main game is Last Light.
