What the Metro 2039 trailers show
Metro 2039 is a single-player first-person shooter. Official copy describes exploration, survival, combat, and stealth. Trailers show guns that jam, a wrist watch used as the interface, and blueprints for gear. Campaign length and difficulty options are not announced.
I watched the June 2026 gameplay reveal and the August Renegade trailer, then checked the weapons against the Steam screenshots rather than a wiki list. I can see a rifle, a double-barrel, a revolver-style shotgun, a knife, and a burning bottle. I cannot see a skill tree or a mission timer. I will not invent a playtime.
Systems named in official material
The watch replaces a conventional HUD and includes the filter timer, in the same family as earlier Metro games. Weapons need maintenance. Blueprints are the new crafting and upgrade track, and the pre-order Specialist Pack is three of those blueprints. Mutants called nosalises are back. The Dark Ones are described as redesigned, not removed.

Is Metro 2039 a horror game or a shooter?
It is a story shooter with horror imagery. Official pages call it an FPS.
Are the old guns back?
Trailers show a Shambler-style shotgun, a Duplet-style double-barrel, and a rifle called Shatun in coverage of the reveal. Treat nicknames from trailers as names you can see, not as a full armory list.
